UPDATE: FBI Finds Suspicious Man

UPDATE – On Friday, the FBI issued an advisory seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man who was driving a vehicle with a stolen plate and who investigators believed may have information about the welfare of a child, according to witnesses who came forward to law enforcement.

As a result of the media coverage, the man has been identified and had recently been taken into police custody in another state in connection with the stolen plate. The immediate concerns relative to the suspected endangerment of a child have been addressed.

Portland, Ore. – The FBI requests the public’s help in identifying the unknown man depicted in the attached images. Investigators believe the individual may be able to help them identify and locate a teenager who may be in danger.

Investigators have the last known sighting of the man as being in Laguna Beach, CA on September 29th. Prior to that, he is believed to have driven from Mississippi to California between September 12th and September 28th. Given the extensive travel already undertaken, FBI offices across the Western U.S. are being asked to get the word out as investigators attempt to identify him.

The unknown male was last seen driving a car with stolen Alabama license plate 58DZ806 on the rear of the vehicle. The blue car was similar in make and model to a Mazda Protégé.
