Prineville, Ore. – The Bowman Museum in Prineville is hosting a free event where people can learn more about Eastern Oregon Ghost Towns.
In the talk “Ghost Towns of Eastern Oregon” – author Keith May will tell the audience about the stages of town development, the reasons for the existence of a town, the historical and humorous stories.
A large part of the story of Ghost Towns that started in North Central Oregon is the desire to reach the markets of Prineville and central Oregon.
A native of Pendleton, Keith May retired from teaching 1st grade in 2011 and retired in 2014 as adjunct graduate level history instructor for the Heritage Institute of Clinton, WA..
He has written 12 books on the history of various aspects of Eastern Oregon History and its architecture. Keith and wife, Christina, reside in a 1902 historic home overlooking Main Street, Pendleton.
The free lecture is tonight at 6:30 at the Bowman Museum on Main Street in Prineville and should last about an hour.
