Gwinnett County Sheriff(SNELLVILLE, Ga.) — The two brothers who allegedly tried to kill their parents in their upscale Atlanta-area home over the weekend will be making their first court appearance Friday afternoon.

Christopher and Cameron Ervin will be in Gwinnett County Court Friday for a preliminary hearing in their case.

Christopher, 22, and Cameron, 17, were arrested and each charged with aggravated assault and arson after their mother and her husband were found bleeding and badly beaten Saturday in the family house in Snellville, Georgia, according to police.

Investigators have since stated that they believe the attack was premeditated.

“It is apparent that the brothers launched a plot to kill both of their parents,” the Gwinnett County Police Department said in a press release.

Officers found Christopher Ervin in a second-floor bathroom and Cameron Ervin was arrested as he left the garage, according to a police report, which also noted that Cameron Ervin allegedly told an officer, “I tried to kill my f****** parents. Who does that?”

Their mother Yvonne Ervin’s 911 call has already been released and she said that she did not know why the brothers allegedly turned on her and her husband.

“I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know why they’ve done this. I really don’t,” she said.

Both parents have been treated and released from the hospital for unspecified injuries.
