Prineville, Ore. A Prineville man involved in a police chase early this morning died from injuries after the chase ended in a crash.

This morning, just before 2:30 AM, an officer from the Prineville Police Department attempted to stop a 2003 Chevrolet pickup near the area of 6th and Elm Street within the City limits of Prineville. The pickup driven by Chaz EVANS, age 23, of Prineville attempted to flee the traffic stop failing to stop at a stop sign and colliding with a 2002 Subaru Legacy traveling westbound on NE 3rd Street at the intersection of Juniper Street. The 2002 Subaru was driven by Timothy FAULKNER, age 31, of Prineville.
During the collision, EVANS lost control of his vehicle as it travelled southbound on Juniper Street colliding with several parked vehicles and he was ejected from his vehicle. EVANS was transported to St. Charles Hospital in Bend for life threatening injuries sustained from the crash.
FAULKNER was transported from the scene to St. Charles Hospital in Prineville and treated for non-life threatening injuries sustained from the crash.
The Oregon State Police is conducting the crash investigation. NE 3rd Street (Hwy 26) was closed for approximately four hours for the ongoing investigation. OSP was assisted at the scene by the Prineville Police Department, the Crook County Sheriff’s Office, Crook County Fire and Rescue and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
