Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Vale

Vale, Ore. – Sergeant Bob Wilson says that yesterday just before noon, OSP received the report of a single motorcycle crash on HWY 26 – about twenty miles northwest of Vale.

Based upon initial information, it is believed that 70 year old Charles P FERNALD of Hillsboro drifted off the roadway as he was traveling eastbound on HWY 26.

The motorcycle traveled for a long distance before it fell over and ejected FERNALD into a fence.

Emergency crews arrived on scene and pronounced FERNALD deceased. There are no known witnesses to the crash and the investigation is continuing…
