State Senator Kim Thatcher Appointed to Transparency Oregon Advisory Commission

 
Salem, Ore.  – State Senator Kim Thatcher (R- Keizer) announced her appointment to the Transparency Oregon Advisory Commission by Senate President Peter Courtney. Senator Thatcher has been member of the commission since its inception, but as a State Representative.

 
“I am very proud to have been reappointed to the Transparency Oregon Advisory Commission,” said Senator Kim Thatcher. “The appointment is a wonderful opportunity to continue my push for transparent, representative state government.”

Senator Thatcher was a chief sponsor of HB 2500, which created both the Oregon Transparency Website and the Transparency Oregon Advisory Commission. The Transparency Oregon Advisory Commission advises the Department of Administrative Services on creating the website as well crafting content and overseeing operation of the site. The site is tasked with increasing access to important public information such as state agency revenues, expenditures, contracting, and more.

 
Senator Kim Thatcher represents Senate District 13, including Newberg, Keizer, Sherwood, Wilsonville and southern Washington County. She is the owner-operator of a construction company and lives with her family in Keizer. She serves as the Vice-Chair for the Senate Committee on Workforce and sits on the Senate Committee on Judiciary and the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on Information Technology.
