Make A Band Event In Eugene… Local Bands Encouraged to Participate

Arts & Business Alliance of Eugene spotlights musicians in a unique Make-A-Band event series

Eugene, Ore. — See what happens when musicians come together like never before.

Musicians of all types are gearing up to showcase their abilities and win prizes while raising money for the local arts community. Musical artists interested in performing can enter online at make-a-band.com and build an artist profile page on EugeneAGoGo.com. Sign-Up is free. All musicians will be asked to perform at one of six spotlight events in front of a live audience, including producers, sponsors and fans. During these events producers, sponsors and fans will pick musicians and make a band. Ten bands will be created, highlighting a wide variety of genres. The bands will then perform at the Make-A-Band Showcase on Friday, May 1st during Lane Arts Council’s First Friday ArtWalk, Downtown Eugene.

Scheduled Spotlight Events:

March 12, 19, 26

7:00 – 9:00pm; Ninkasi Administration Building-155 Blair Blvd., Eugene

March 17, 24, and 31

6:00 – 9:00 pm; Cozmic-199 W. 8th Ave., Eugene

$5 dollar donation is requested at the door.

“Almost everyone makes their own form of music in one way or another or has the desire to,” says James Book of Ninkasi Brewing Company. “For the Arts and Business Alliance of Eugene to nurture and encourage this in a fun way, while involving local businesses, perpetuates better local “arts-enhanced” living for all of us.”

Over $10,000 in cash and prizes, including production time and gear, will be awarded to musicians who participate in the Make-A-Band event.

Proceeds from Make-A-Band will go to Arts & Business Alliance of Eugene, a 501 c(3) non-profit that enriches our community through acting as a catalyst for dynamic arts and business partnerships. For more information, check out make-a-band.com.
