(GREEN BAY, Wisc.) — Tight End Brandon Bostick’s last play as a member of the Green Bay Packers is one he’ll never live down as the team announced they released the third-year player.
“Thankful To Spend The First 3 Years Of My Career In GB. Unfortunately My Time There Has Ended. I Appreciate The Support From Everyone In GB!” Bostick posted on Twitter.
Bostick famously played a pivotal role in the Seattle Seahawks comeback against the Packers in the NFC Championship Game.
Holding a 19-14 lead with just over two minutes left to play, the Seahawks attempted an on-side kick. Bostick tried to recover the kick, but let the ball slip through his hands. Seattle recovered the ball as a result, and the Packers wound up losing the game.
Bostick wasn’t even supposed to catch the ball, as he was in to be a blocker for wide receiver Jordy Nelson. The ball wound up bouncing towards him, and he failed to make the play.
Bostick was once viewed as a promising prospect, but failed to yield much success on the field. For his career, he has caught 9 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
