Bend Parkway Ramp Now Open

Bend, Ore. – After nearly a year and a half of closure, the new ramps connecting south 3rd Street in Bend to US97 are opening on the evening of Monday, December 15 (today).

It was in July of last year that ODOT and contractor Hamilton Construction set to work rebuilding the southern Bend connectors, as part of the $27 million US97 Murphy Road project. That project is creating a new east-west connection in tandem with the new Murphy Road bridge over the Parkway.

The on and off ramps at 3rd St. and the Parkway have been closed and rebuilt as a part of the overall Murphy Road project.

Next year construction crews will finish connecting the new Murphy Road alignment to Brookswood Blvd. on the west and Parrell Road on the east. Along with the opening of the ramps, ODOT will turn off the signals controlling all traffic at 3rd Street and Pinebrook.

Motorists should drive with caution in the area until the new traffic patterns are established.
