Highway 97 Median Barrier Construction Begins

Bend, Ore. – Construction has begun on the $6 million project to widen the highway shoulders of Highway 97 and add a median barrier between Romaine Village Way and Lava Butte.

Motorists will see delays of 20 minutes or less through the work zone, but those delays could change over time.

The Paving work is expected to take place later in the summer.

Oregon Department of Transportation Region said the project will reduce the number of serious crossover crashes on the highway.
