Bend, Ore. – The unemployment numbers for Central Oregon were released today, and the healthy pace of growth continues…

Hiring was fairly typical across the High Desert in May.

Regional economist Damon Runberg says it wasn’t just Deschutes County with a good showing last month.

Strong job growth over the past couple years is beginning to spill over into Jefferson County, which was one Oregon’s fastest growing economies.

Meantime – Crook County is struggling to overcome recent losses in wood product manufacturing.

Overall, Unemployment rates were largely unchanged across the region in May.
